Mark LyonsI would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the assistance you provided my family over the Christmas Holidays.

On August 5th 2015, my wife Cindy and I were involved in a motorcycle accident while riding in the Black Hills of South Dakota during the 75th Anniversary of Sturgis. We had been riding all day visiting Custer State Park, Iron Mountain, Mount Rushmore and Keystone.

On our way back to Sturgis, we were riding about 8 miles outside of Deadwood, SD when another motorcycle traveling the opposite direction lost control.  The rider on the other bike became separated from the motorcycle when it came into our travel lane and we collided with the downed motorcycle.

The collision sent both my wife and I into the air and over the handle bars.

We were transported to Deadwood Regional Hospital where the medical staff discovered that Cindy had broken bones in her wrist, shoulder, pelvis, lower spine and elbow.

We were transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital where she spent 4 hours in surgery to repair/stabilize her injuries.

After a week in Rapid City she was transported back home to Colorado where she spent another week at the Medical Center of the Rockies.

By the time Christmas holidays came Cindy had been out of work for 4 months and our family had been down to only one income. We were able to use some of the insurance money to supplement the lost income to pay our monthly bills.  As you know, that money goes quickly,, so we decided to scale back on our holiday spending.

Through the generous donations received by the Colorado biker community, Colorado Biker in Distress came by to deliver all the food we needed to create a a Christmas meal along with gifts for our 9 and 14 year old children.  The generous gifts and food were very much appreciated and helped us focus on paying our bills.

We are forever grateful for the generosity and will continue to support the Colorado BID organization.

Thank you for your support!
